It is one of few regions of Italy that shared the same distinction with Piedmont with the Barolo and Barbaresco regions.
1951 vintage port was also not declared as vintage, though Single Quinta port may still be drinkable but it also had short supply.
Vintage wines from prestigious producers and regions will also have a governing upper hand over average wines.
